Good luck with LIFE OF PI. I found it to be unreadable. Perhaps I'll try again at a later time. HANDMAID'S TALE was awesome. I had a lot of problems with the ending of LOVELY BONES. I felt she lost steam at the end and that the book was pretty uneven throughout. But I loved her beginning chapter. Have you ever read DEATH IN THE FAMILY by Agee?

I read Life of Pi in the hospital one hot summer after they sent me home too soon and on the wrong meds after intestinal surgery and had to readmit me for a week. Perhaps my positive experience of the book was relative?
