Little do they know

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Midland

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

I have worked in radio. That much is right, but I'm 13th generation southern, and I like my drawl. Besides, we native southerners have a lot of fun with Yankee transplants who think that the number of syllables in a vowel sound is in inverse proportion to IQ.

Although I've lived in NW Ohio for 20 years, I still have every bit of my Eastern NC accent. I've heard your voice via the computer. Such a beautiful voice.

Oops.

You definitely have a Boston accent, even if you think you don't. Of course, that doesn't mean you are from the Boston area, you may also be from New Hampshire or Maine.

Oh my, I feel so left out, but I'm so impressionable that one telephone conversation can leave me with a lilt, a brogue, a twang or a drawl for days. Does that make me typically Canadian or uniquely me? I don't know.

Wouldn't it be interesting if we each wrote in a way that revealed our speaking voices, too.
