OK, this time I signed in first. Let's see what happens.
It's GORGEOUS, Cynthia.
The Beta Black Hole: I spent more than an hour last night re-everything my blog. Then when I went back to reinsert the things that had disappeared, which was a successful endeavor, the entire blog magically reverted to the old design. So I am impressed by your dramatic changes!
Your new header is fabulous. It looks to me like a group of people dancing. The front blue figure is looking straight at us, with his dance face on. The green figure on the far left is dancing with someone we can't see. What if you put music to it ???
So this is Beta? Was it awfully, awfully difficult? Did you have to light candles and chant over it? Will all my lovely pictures disappear into the abyss?
You have my undying admiration. I am such a coward. :)
Cynthia, the new header is very nice. I've spent time trying to get used to it before I made a comment. After much thought, I think I agree with Lisa about the quilts. The quilts accented your blog better, I thought. The woman on the header reminds me a bit of Barbara Eden in "My Dream of Jeanie," which doesn't quite capture the spirit behind you blog like the quilts did. Just a matter of personal preference, though! Everyone else seems to love it! :-)
There are so many aspects to life. It's rich and complicated, and even the simplest of people is more complex than anyone can imagine. Each of our interests can shine like a jewel when it's in its own little box, but when they're massed together, it can be dazzling. I wanted my blog to reflect some of that intangible wealth.

It is a very nice and creative header. The sidebar on my screen is way at the bottom of the page.
Wow! Love it!
