Summer Solstice

The sun rose at 5:39 this morning and set here tonight at 8:14, giving us 14 hours and 35 minutes of sunlight on the longest day of the year. I can't deny it any longer. Summer's here. Excuse me while I go melt. I'm already longing for Autumn.

I hate it when I screw up my facts. The Solstice was today, not yesterday. The sun set a minute later tonight. 14 hours and 36 minutes of sunlight today. Me, I'm going out and enjoy the moon and stars.

I think Summer Solstice is June 21, this year, not June 20. So you have another day to feel that long heat. Sorry.

Summer has always been my least favorite season. When I lived in the South, I dreaded it and felt so depressed at its coming. I longed for Fall. For several years after I married, I lived in a trailer without air conditioning in Eastern NC. Those were some rough times. I feel for ya, Cyn. It was rather lovely here today, thank goodness: a break from a few days of heat and humidity.
