I only wish

there is no pain you are receding
A distant ship, smoke on the horizon.
You are only coming through in waves.
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying.
When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child is grown, The dream is gone.
I have become comfortably numb.

Song lyric excerpt from Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd

(((Cyn)))--This is one of my fave songs, but this isn't what you want, to be numb. You are, however, in much need of some down time. You are just being torn in too many directions at once.

This song in in my all-time top ten, but probably not a good place to wish to be.

This reads sadly beautiful (I don't remember it ~ maybe I should have listened more closely ;)

There is temporary shelter in 'comfortably numb,' I know. Give yourself some time to gather your strength. When you surface, you survive.

I love this song. Odd that because when my son had leukmeia it became his anthem. He made me promise him dozens of times that I would play it at his funeral. It makes me think of how we do what we have to to survive......and we do. We survive and sometimes we even thrive. Hope floats.
